MURRAY — Murray police are looking for a man they say attempted a carjacking before he barricaded himself in a gas station Sunday morning.

The man got in a woman's car with a firearm in a Denny's parking lot in Murray around 10 a.m. The woman escaped into the restaurant without injury.

Later, the man left the vehicle and entered the Shell gas station at 4489 S. Century Drive. The Shell employees left the store and the man barricaded himself in, the employees told police. However, when Murray SWAT arrived, officers found that the man had left the store.

Police say the man is 6 feet, 4 inches tall and has brown eyes, blonde hair and facial hair. Police estimate the Caucasian man weighs around 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing a hat, grey shirt and a pink skirt or wrap.

If anyone has information about the man, police ask them to call 801-840-4000.
