PLEASANT GROVE — A 2-year-old boy drowned in an above-ground home pool in Pleasant Grove in a "tragic accident," police said Sunday.
The boy died at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday after the parents left for a couple of minutes to work on dinner, Pleasant Grove Police Capt. Britt Smith said. Smith added that when the parents returned they found the boy in the pool.
Paramedics responded to the scene and transported him to a hospital where he later died from his injuries, Smith said.
The boy's identity was not released.
