LOGAN — A motorcyclist died after he collided with an SUV that was attempting to turn onto U.S. Highway 89/91 near Logan on Thursday night, Logan police said.

The motorcyclist was identified Friday as 24-year-old Spencer Scott Rawles, of Brigham City, according to Logan police.

Rawles was southbound on the inside lane of U.S. 89/91 near 3100 South when a Hyundai Palisade attempted to enter from 2000 West, according to a press release. The driver of the Hyundai pulled into the southbound lanes while attempting to make a left turn to go northbound on the highway and was struck on the driver's side by the motorcycle.

Rawles suffered critical injuries and CPR was performed at the scene, Logan police said. Rawles was transported to Logan Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Rawles was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and there were no signs of any impairment in the crash, police said. The crash remains under investigation, police said, and no further details were released.
