SANDY — Police are investigating the death of a man who was found in the trunk of an unoccupied car left partially in the road Tuesday morning.

The car was located near the area of 9700 South and Riverside Drive.

Police on the scene said that there are no obvious signs of trauma or cause of death, but the death was considered "suspicious." The man was identified on Wednesday as Derick Winston Fabert, 47, of Salt Lake City.

Police said in a tweet that there was no indication of foul play with the initial autopsy examination. The cause of death is pending a toxicology report, according to police.
