SALT LAKE CITY — The new trailer for LeBron James' "Space Jam 2: A New Legacy" was released Saturday.
From the looks of it, the movie is set to center around a classic family conflict of a son working to live up to his father's expectations of achieving basketball greatness (similar to "High School Musical" or "One Tree Hill," it's a tale as old as time).
James' son, Dom, played by Cedric Joe, is preparing for an upcoming basketball camp when he realizes it's not what he wants ("am I living my dream, or yours?").
As he storms off, both LeBron and Dom find themselves being transported into the "server-verse," ruled by Don Cheadle's character.
"The only way you're getting your son back is if you and I play a little basketball," Cheadle's character challenges before sending LeBron off to Tune World.
Cue the Looney Tunes' theme music and some classic cartoon animation as the new Tune Squad is assembled and we are off on the much-anticipated sequel to the 1996 classic.
The movie is set to release in theaters and on HBO Max on July 16 and feature the entirety of Warner Brother's movies and cartoons along with other NBA all-stars.
