MORGAN – A semitruck hauling a flammable solid rolled on westbound I-84 just before 6 a.m. Tuesday in Morgan County. Emergency crews closed both directions of I-84 for safety reasons.
Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Nick Street said HAZMAT crews had responded as it appeared the semitruck had spilled a flammable solid.
Street said the spill was contained and eastbound lanes reopened at 7:40 a.m. However westbound lanes were expected to stay closed until 9:30 a.m. for clean-up.
I-84 is CLOSED both EB & WB. Drivers heading west away from Henefer will be forced to exit at Croydon Rd. If you are heading east away from Morgan you must exit at Rees Lane. Expect delays in both directions. pic.twitter.com/FHVb8nVYGy
