OGDEN — Police have identified a man who died last week after being hit by a car while he was walking with his bike in Ogden.

Alfred Gallegos, 58, died in the March 1 crash, Ogden Police Lt. Will Farr announced on Tuesday.

The crash took place at the intersection of 28th Street and Wall Avenue, police said. A northbound car hit Gallegos, who was walking east on 28th Street with his bike.

Gallegos died from his injuries at the scene, police said. He was wearing dark clothing, the intersection is not well-lit, and there are no crosswalks in the area, officials said.

Police said last week that the driver was cooperating and impairment wasn't suspected. As of Tuesday, there were no other updates and the crash was still being investigated, Farr said.
