OGDEN — A woman was hospitalized after she was struck by a car while crossing the street Sunday evening.

Ogden Police Lt. Tyler Ziegler said the incident occurred just before 9 p.m. The woman, who police said is in her 40s, was crossing 30th Street northbound near Jefferson Avenue when she was hit by a vehicle traveling west on 30th Street. She was not using a crosswalk, according to Ziegler.

The woman was able to communicate with officials who arrived at the scene. She was transported to a hospital and while the extent of her injuries is unknown, Ziegler said her injuries are not life-threatening.

The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with police on the investigation and shows no signs of impairment, Ziegler said.

Further information, including the woman's identity, was not released.
