SALT LAKE CITY — Better make sure you clear out all the snow from the last storm to wallop Utah, because more is on the way in the latest forecast.
Snow in the forecast — but not a lot
A pair of storms moves into the region starting Friday and lingering into Saturday. However, in terms of snow totals, these storms packs much less of a punch: the forecast calls for valleys along the Wasatch Front to receive less than an inch, with 8 – 12 inches for the northern Utah mountains.
Warmer temperatures mean mostly wet roads, rather than icy or slick.
"Roads ought to be more wet in the long run here than anything else, considering our air temperature will climb," KSL Meteorologist Grant Weyman said. "Certainly some concern there for slick areas, but much, much, much less than what we saw the other day."
High temperatures return to the 40s early next week, setting the stage for temperature inversions that could trap pollution in the valleys and worsen air quality, Weyman said. After the weekend storms, no more snow is in the forecast to help clean and mix the air.
