PROVO — Provo High School is transitioning to online learning due to an increase in COVID-19 cases, the Provo School District announced on Tuesday.

According to the district, Provo High School students will attend in-person learning on Wednesday and will then transition to online learning beginning Thursday, Jan. 21. The district dashboard currently shows that Provo High School has a minimum of 15 positive COVID-19 cases.

Provo students will transition back to Phase 1 starting on Jan. 25, which means that students are allowed to attend school in person every other day.

According to the district the schedule will be:

  • Students with last names A-K will attend in person on Monday, Jan. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 27.
  • All 10th and 11th-grade students attend in person Tuesday, Jan. 26, with all other students online. The PSAT exam will be given on this day.
  • Students with last names L-Z will attend in person on Thursday, Jan. 28.
  • Students who are participating in in-season extracurricular activities may continue to do so as long as they have tested negative and are current in their testing.

Following this, Provo High School will move back to in-person class Monday through Friday with an early release schedule on Feb. 1, according to district officials.
