SANDY — A West Valley man who police say claimed he was a scout for a talent agency has been charged with a sexually abusing a woman whom he wanted to pose for him.

The same man has been on the run from police since 2018 when he was charged with a similar crime.

Christian Dominguez Saavedra, 36, was charged Wednesday in 3rd District Court with forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony.

In March, a 20-year-old woman was at Lone Peak Skate Park, 10140 S. 700 East in Sandy, when Saavedra approached her, told her he was a model scout for Star Talent Agency and that he could get her a photo shoot that would pay $7,000, according to charging documents.

As they were walking, the two ended up behind the park's bathroom building, and Saavedra asked if she would pose for him, the charges state. Saavedra then pulled the waistband of the woman's pants open and reached down her pants and touched her, according to the charges.

Saavedra claimed he was looking for stretch marks and that "this stuff happens all the time," according to the charges, but then told the woman that due to her reaction "she would not make it in the modeling world."

The woman was able to provide a picture of Saavedra to police. Investigators later confirmed Saavedra did not work for the talent agency.

The report comes more than three years after two women both claimed they were inappropriately touched by Saavedra during a photo shoot. He claimed he was "examining" them for stretch marks, according to charging documents.

Saavedra was charged in that case with object rape, forcible sexual abuse, and sexual battery. Court records listed his address that time as being Palm Beach, Florida.

A warrant for Saavedra's arrest was issued in September of 2018 and was still outstanding as of Wednesday.
