SANDY — An elderly woman was found dead after fire crews responded to a house fire at 11200 S. Tall Pines Way on Tuesday, officials at the scene said.

The fire was extinguished by crews in 20 minutes and officials said it appears to be accidental.

Sandy Fire Battalion Chief Michael Bullock told the Deseret News that other people were in the house Tuesday, but no other injuries were reported, noting that crews "were able to make entry and put the fire out fairly quickly."

Sandy police and fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire, which Bullock said left the house uninhabitable and the family displaced.

Further details, including the identities of those involved, were not released.
