EMERY, Emery County — Authorities have identified a woman who died early Wednesday morning after a crash in central Utah.
The crash took place about 2:30 a.m. on state Route 10 just north of the town of Emery, according to a news release from the Utah Department of Public Safety.
The woman was driving north on SR-10 in a Chevy Trailblazer when she crossed over the center line, crashing head-on into a semitruck that was southbound, the release said.
The woman suffered severe injuries and efforts to save her life were not successful, according to the release. She was identified Thursday as 32-year-old Nicole M. Erickson, of Kanab. Erickson was the only person in the Trailblazer.
The driver of the semitruck, who was the only occupant, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the crash scene. Further information about the crash was not released.
