SALT LAKE CITY — A small plane made a rough landing near Ogden-Hinckley Airport Thursday afternoon, injuring its pilot.
Ogden Deputy Fire Chief Shelby Willis said that the plane only had one occupant, who was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries. His injuries were revealed to be considered not life-threatening around 9 p.m. on Thursday.
According to Willis, the pilot successfully took off from the Ogden-Hinckley Airport when he experienced an emergency and landed the plane. The aircraft then slid off the runway and landed in a nearby field.
A photo from KSL TV at the scene shows a small plane down near a road with rescue crews by the plane.
Authorities did not release the identity of the pilot.
Correction: A previous version misidentified Ogden Deputy Fire Chief Shelby Willis as Ogden's fire chief.
