RIVERTON — A crash that left two people in critical condition also closed a portion of Mountain View Corridor Highway Wednesday evening.

Riverton police responded to the crash involving two vehicles and three people at Mountain View Corridor and 12600 South about 9:30 p.m. One person had been partially ejected from one of the vehicles, Riverton Police Sgt. Dan Thomas said in a news release.

A 30-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man were taken to Intermountain Medical Center in critical condition. A 20-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to Riverton Hospital in fair condition.

Officials don't know yet whether drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash. A multi-jurisdictional traffic accident reconstructive team has taken over the investigation and no other details of the crash were initially released.

The Utah Department of Transportation tweeted just before 10 p.m. Mountain View Corridor was closed at 12600 South. It has since reopened.
