SALT LAKE CITY — A man was transported to the hospital with serious injuries on Thursday after a scooter collided with an SUV in an intersection.
According to Salt Lake City Police Lt. Wierman, the 30-year-old man was traveling southbound on an electric scooter around 6:30 p.m. at 300 S. West Temple when, for unknown reasons, he ran a red light. The man was riding the scooter within the traffic lanes when he collided with an SUV in the intersection.
The man riding the scooter was transported to the hospital and is in serious condition, said officials. The driver of the SUV stopped immediately and has been compliant with the police. It is unknown whether a citation will be issued.
