ENOCH, Iron County — Officials on Wednesday identified a woman who died after the car she was driving collided with a large drill pump truck on a southern Utah highway Monday afternoon.
Crews responded to a report of a crash at the intersection of Midvalley Road and state Route 130 in Enoch about 3:30 p.m. Monday, Utah Highway Patrol officials said Tuesday.
The woman was driving a beige 2005 Chevrolet Malibu east on Midvalley Road when she pulled past a stop sign in front of a truck that was traveling south on S.R. 130, troopers said. The truck collided with the driver's side of the Malibu. The woman was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle, suffering fatal injuries, officials said.
UHP on Wednesday identified the woman as Mikell Lynn Miller-Minchey, 58, of Cedar City.
UHP officials said it's unknown why Miller-Minchey pulled in front of the truck. The driver of the truck said they saw the vehicle pull in front of the stop sign but they were unable to stop before the vehicles collided, officials added.
The crash remains under investigation.
