SALT LAKE CITY — A 17-year-old boy was arrested Monday in connection with the fatal shooting of a man at Tanner Park over the weekend, according to Salt Lake City police.
Police announced the arrest about 2 p.m. The boy's name was not released.
He is accused of shooting a 25-year-old man Sunday, who later died from his injuries, police also announced Monday. That man's name was not immediately released.
Just after 4 p.m. on Sunday, police were called to Tanner Park, 2695 E. Heritage Way. Witnesses told investigators that a man fired several shots at the victims, who were inside a car, as the gunman drove by.
Updated conditions on the other two who were shot — a man and a woman — were not immediately available.
Police were looking Monday for a dark-colored SUV, possibly a BMW. Salt Lake police have not said if the gunman shot as he drove by, or if he got out of his car and fired. Police were not looking for any additional suspects Monday. A possible motive for the shooting was not released.
This is the 10th homicide investigation in Salt Lake City this year, according to police. There were 11 at this time last year.
