MILLCREEK — Unified police are investigating after a man was shot and killed near a car wash early Sunday morning.

The shooting was reported about 12:36 a.m., according to Unified Police Detective Kevin Mallory. Officers responded to 635 W. 3900 South to find a 21-year-old man had been shot.

He was transported to the hospital where he died, Mallory said. He was identified Monday as 21-year-old Manuel Felipe Gonzalez-Cortez, according to a tweet from Unified Police.

No arrests have yet been made, but Mallory said the UPD has "a few leads" they are following up on. As of Monday, detectives were still investigating the incident and were asking anyone who has information about the shooting to contact police, UPD said.

"To our knowledge, we don't have any witnesses," Mallory said. "This is one that, unfortunately, has to be investigated almost purely forensically."
