MILBURN, Sanpete County — Two fugitives who allegedly fired a shot at law enforcement officers Wednesday have been taken into custody.

Brett Gilman Johnson, 50, and Jamie Carol Cleghorn, 42, were taken into custody by the Utah County SWAT team just before 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sanpete County sheriff’s officials said.

Tips from the public and possible sightings helped lead law enforcement officers to find them, officials said. The search ended less than a mile northwest of their residence, authorities said.

Johnson and Cleghorn were wanted in Wyoming. On Wednesday, the two allegedly shot at Utah officers from inside a home and fled the scene.

No injuries were reported in that incident.

Correction: An earlier version incorrectly reported Brett Gilman Johnson’s age as 42, and Jamie Carol Cleghorn’s age as 50. Johnson is 50 and Cleghorn is 42.
