SALT LAKE CITY — A man has been charged with inappropriately touching a 15-year-old girl.

Tavarrioun Gregorio Tate, 49, of Salt Lake City, was charged Monday in 3rd District Court with three counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, a third-degree felony; and obstructing justice, a class A misdemeanor.

On July 23, Tate was observed on surveillance video by an apartment manager inappropriately touching a 15-year-old girl, according to charging documents. Tate then told the girl not to tell her mother, according to a police affidavit.

When interviewed by police, Tate “stated that he had apologized to the victim and it never happened again,” the charges state.
