ROOSEVELT — One man was injured in a violent home invasion in Roosevelt on Saturday.
Several armed men entered a home near 400 N. State and demanded money from the residents, according to a police affidavit.
In the backyard, “a struggle ensued between the intruders and (a resident),” the affidavit states. “During that struggle (the resident) was shot through his left hand and right thigh area.”
The intruders drove off in a white SUV that police spotted a short time later and chased, according to the affidavit. The SUV wrecked and the occupants ran off.
Travis Sean Thomas, 33, of Kearns, was found a short time later, arrested and booked into the Duchesne County Jail. He was formally charged Monday in 8th District Court with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony; and drug possession, a class B misdemeanor.
Prescription pills and drug paraphernalia were found inside the wrecked SUV, the affidavit states.
Thomas, whose criminal history includes theft, was on parole at the time of his arrest, according to the affidavit.
