HOLLADAY — A man is in police custody in connection with the stabbing a 58-year-old Holladay man.
The incident happened at about 9 p.m. Saturday at 4635 Locust Lane, according to Unified police detective Kevin Mallory. The man "got into an argument with a person that he had met, apparently, downtown somewhere," Mallory said. "This individual was supposed to help him with some stuff around the house."
The reason for the argument is not yet known, Mallory said. The man was stabbed "multiple times" in the chest, neck and face. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The attacker fled the scene. But the Unified Police Department announced Sunday evening that a man suspected to be involved in the crime had been arrested. He was taken to a hospital to be treated for "undisclosed injuries," police said.
The name of the man who was arrested was not released Sunday. Mallory said police hope to get more information from the man who was stabbed as his condition improves.
