TAYLORSVILLE — A shelter-in-place order was lifted for the Taylorsville campus of Salt Lake Community College Wednesday about an hour after an armed robbery investigation prompted police to issue the order.
Individuals on the campus were asked to shelter in place about 1:30 p.m., and by 2:30 p.m. the order had been lifted.
Unified police were still searching for two people in connection to an armed robbery at a nearby business as of 2:30 p.m., but officers said the search near the campus had been cleared.
"The campus is safe and has been searched and secured by law enforcement," school officials wrote in a tweet. "You may continue your activities freely. Thank you for your quick response and support."
Police said one of the men they're looking for is likely wearing a black hat, a black bandanna around his neck, a white T-shirt, black pants and black shoes. He was last seen near 2050 W. Bowling Drive, police added.
The men are considered armed and dangerous, police said. Anyone who sees someone matching these descriptions is asked to call 911.
