SALT LAKE CITY — A man with a lengthy criminal history now faces charges of child pornography and voyeurism.
Kevin Jeffory Long, 41, of West Valley City, was charged Thursday by the Utah Attorney General’s Office with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony, and voyeurism involving a child under the age of 14, a third-degree felony.
The investigation began in February when Google alerted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that suspected child pornography was being uploaded to Long’s account, according to charging documents.
The Utah Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a search warrant on Long’s Google account and found “approximately 150 files of child erotica. There were also voyeuristic photos of young female children, which appeared to have been taken by Long,” the charges state.
Investigators confronted Long and seized his phone and searched that. On it, they found a voyeuristic video he had recorded of a 7-year-old girl, according to charging documents.
Long was on probation at the time of his arrest. He was convicted in May of violating a protective order, convicted in February of criminal mischief, and currently faces charges of felony theft in Davis County, according to court records. Long’s criminal history in Utah dates back at least 20 years, court records show.
