MILLCREEK — Two single-family homes caught fire on Thursday afternoon, according to officials from the Unified Fire Department. The incident is the third house fire on Celeste Way this week, fire officials said.
The homes on fire were located at 3176 E. and 3370 S. Celeste Way, authorities said.
About 50-60 firefighters were on scene as of 4 p.m. and high temperatures were making defensive efforts difficult. By about 4:15 p.m., crews had gained control over the fire, which had spread into the attic of one of the homes.
On Sunday, a fire in the same area caused extensive damage to a home and garage. As of Thursday, the cause of that fire was still under investigation.
The cause of Thursday’s fire is also under investigation.
