OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- There hasn't been much snow, but Snowbasin and Wolf Creek ski resorts are planning to open Friday morning.
The resorts have used snowmaking operations to create enough powder to start the season. It's the first time since 2000 that Snowbasin has opened after Thanksgiving weekend.
Six of Utah's 13 resorts already are open. Also expected to open Friday is The Canyons, and Deer Valley Resort is opening on Saturday.
According to Sundance Resort's Web site, it plans to open on Dec. 12.
Powder Mountain, which has no snowmaking equipment, and Beaver Mountain haven't set opening dates.
