News ReleaseTOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (Dec. 1, 2008) — Fans who always wanted to see what it's like to drive on a world-class racetrack will get their chance at Miller Motorsports Park this Saturday, Dec. 6, and can help needy families at the same time.
Miller Motorsports Park is hosting the inaugural "Drive Away Hunger" charity event this Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, to benefit the Utah Food Bank. Fans who bring non-perishable food items will be allowed to drive five laps around MMP's 2.2-mile East Course behind a pace car. Passengers will be allowed, but all passengers must wear a seat belt. Additional track time, in five-lap increments, will be available for a cash donation of $25. All proceeds will benefit the Utah Food Bank.
"We are very excited about the ‘Drive Away Hunger' program," said Dan Davis, President and CEO of Miller Motorsports Park. "This is a great opportunity for fans to get just a taste of what life is like on the other side of the guardrail, and to help a very worthy cause at the same time. At this time of the year, there are far too many families who need some extra help. By donating food and cash to the Utah Food Bank through the ‘Drive Away Hunger' program, you can satisfy your need for speed and satisfy our need to feed at the same time!"
In addition, the Miller Kart Track will be open during the day for concession rentals.
