(KSL News) A suspected car thief is spending the holiday in jail.
Police say Oscar Parra was fleeing a domestic fight on foot when he found a car with a dog inside and trailer attached to it. Parra allegedly unhooked the trailer and drove off in the car.
Later, West Valley police stopped a reckless driver, which turned out to be Parra driving the stolen vehicle. Police believe he threw the dog out along the way.
Parra is facing charges for domestic violence, the car theft and felony theft for the dog.
