It's no secret area nonprofits are struggling with fewer donations ever since the economy took a downward spiral. We've been reporting on the trend for weeks, and our viewers have been listening.

It may be a cliché, but all it takes is one person to make a difference. In this case, we have a group of viewers who want to help in any way they can.

From people in need at Christmas time to homeless teenagers on the street, our viewers are responding.

Todd Duffin, with Carpet Cleaning Specialists, said, "We'd like to help as many families out as we can."

The story on homeless teenagers that aired on Monday touched Jennie Johnson, president of the Bingham Boys Lacrosse Program, so much that today she kicked off a coat, glove and blanket drive at Bingham High School. She said, "It's really close to home when you look at kids their age that are on the streets that are cold and don't have the things that they have. It's something we felt like we could really make a difference on."

The Bingham Boys Lacrosse Program will be collecting items for the Homeless Youth shelter, not just until Christmas, but until May.

And Todd Duffin also wants to help. He said, "Me, as a small business owner, I don't have a lot of money to donate, and we really wanted to help out. So, I just thought about it for a few minutes and thought we can donate our service."

This carpet cleaning business owner saw our story on the Arc of Utah and thought he'll clean your carpet in exchange for a $25 donation to charity. He said, "We're able to do this service, and we're stepping up, doing our part, and people can donate the $25 minimum."
