SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- There will be no Utah Transit Authority bus, TRAX or FrontRunner service on Thanksgiving.
Regular service will return Friday with two additional TRAX trains for an expected rush that evening.
The extra Friday service will handle crowds expected to view holiday decorations at Temple Square, Gateway mall's annual "Light up the Night" ceremony and a Utah Jazz basketball game.
Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker has also announced that metered downtown parking will be free for two hours at a time from Thanksgiving until New Year's Day. Seasonal bags will cover the affected meters.
