(KSL News) Utah soldier Dan Dolan will be laid to rest today, almost two weeks after he was killed serving in Iraq.

An insurgent bomb tipped over Dolan's vehicle. He was then shot trying to move the truck back upright. He was flown to a hospital, but died a short time later.

Dolan's funeral began this morning at 9:00 at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 Chapel Street in Layton.

Dolan's family received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart in his behalf.

He will be buried at the Roy City Cemetary.
