An insurgent bomb tipped over Dolan's vehicle. He was then shot trying to move the truck back upright. He was flown to a hospital, but died a short time later.
Dolan's funeral began this morning at 9:00 at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 Chapel Street in Layton.
Dolan's family received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart in his behalf.
He will be buried at the Roy City Cemetary.
