Former Seabee and retired teacher Dee Gledhill Jr. drove a few miles north of his Roy home today to stand on top of a freeway overpass, wear his veteran's hat and wave a large American flag.
Why? He says,"You listen to the people as they come by. They honk their horns, they wave at you. These guys are coming from all over America."
Gledhill says he watches every week as one TV network shows the names of soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. He just wanted to show his appreciation.
