(KSL News) Fire destroyed a historic building in Brigham City this morning. Firefighters couldn't save the Merrill's Planing Mill on east Forest Street.
The Planing Mill was built in 1875 at the peak of the Brigham City Co-op and provided supplies and goods for the pioneer community.
"This building is really important to us. It's one of two that have just been burned," said Brigham City resident Beth Gurrister.
Firefighters are still investigating. They say it's too early to call it "suspicious."
