(KSL News) The Salt Lake man who was texting while driving when he caused a fatal accident will be sharing his story as a cautionary tale for others.
This morning Theodore Andrew Jorgensen was sentenced to probation and 500 hours of community service in connection with the death of 17-year-old Lauren Mulkey last year.
Jorgensen pleaded guilty to negligent homicide in connection with the death and admitted he was distracted by his cell phone at the time of the crash.
Coming out of court, Mulkey's mother said she hopes Jorgensen sharing his experience with others through community service will "save a lot of lives."
