CENTERVILLE — A man was taken to a hospital in serious condition after his car was hit by another car while he was changing a tire on the side of I-15 late Thursday evening, authorities said.
Two other people were able to jump out of the way and avoid being hit, according to Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Mike McKay.
The three were changing a tire on the left side of southbound I-15 in Centerville about 11 p.m., McKay said. They were in between the car and the median when another car came up behind them and hit their car.
The two other people were able to jump into the median and out of the way, but the man got hit and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. He is expected to recover, McKay said.
As of early Friday morning, troopers were still investigating why the other driver did not see the car that got hit. No further information about the crash was available.
