SALT LAKE CITY — An April snowstorm dumped on some areas of the Wasatch Front, including nearly six inches in Elk Ridge, as a cold front moved through Utah Thursday.

Elk Ridge in Utah County recorded 5.8 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service.

The snow showers came to a close early Thursday morning, and most roads across the Wasatch Front were wet, not snowy, according to KSL Meteorologist Grant Weyman. Sunshine is expected Thursday, but temperatures will be colder.

The weekend is expected to be warmer with temperatures in the 60s, but more rain is expected early next week, according to Weyman.

Other areas to get overnight snow included Richmond in Cache Valley, with about 4.7 inches, according to the weather service. Logan got three inches of snow.

In the Wasatch Mountains, Powder Mountain recorded six inches of snow, and both Provo Canyon and Alta Ski Resort got four inches. The Deer Creek Dam in Wasatch County got about four inches, according to the weather service.
