(KSL News) Sixteen Utah School districts have received millions of dollars to help teachers do a better job of teaching math.
The $7.5 million grant will help elementary school teachers gain a stronger knowledge in math. This will enable them to better teach the concepts to fourth through sixth grade students.
It is said a strong math background will help students through the rest of their school years.
Half of the money will go to incentives so teachers will take part in the professional development programs.
