TAYLORSVILLE — Police are searching for a man who allegedly assaulted a woman and stole her car on Tuesday night.

The man is described as a 19-year-old white man with curly red hair. He was last seen wearing black pants and a white shirt, according to Unified Police Sgt. Shawn Fausett.

About 10 p.m. on Tuesday night, a woman told police she met the man, who said he needed food. She said she brought him back to her home and gave him temporary food and shelter, Fausett said.

When it was time to drop the man off, he assaulted her and stole a gray 2011 Subaru Legacy around 4 a.m. near 3300 S. Highland Drive.

Anyone with information about the incident can call Unified police at 801-743-7000.
