SPANISH FORK — A 72-year-old Spanish Fork man was charged Tuesday with sexually assaulting a teenage girl.

Warren J. Johnson is charged in 4th District Court with object rape and forcible sodomy, both first-degree felonies.

A 17-year-old girl said Johnson would often visit the restaurant where she and her friend were at, and “frequently kiss and hug her,” according to charging documents. “The minor stated that after some time, it escalated.”

The girl told police she would go on drives with Johnson, during which he would sexually assault her. She said Johnson would also give her money when she asked for it, and was paid about $2,000 during the time she knew him, the charges state.

On one occasion, Johnson took the girl to a farm in Spanish Fork where he parked, then performed a sex act on her, the charges state.

When police interviewed some of the girls’ friends, they learned that they had also been paid money by Johnson, according to the charges.
