SANDY — A couple who police say had child molestation fantasies were charged Monday with sexually abusing a 1-year-old child.

Randy Don Overbaugh, 39, of Sandy, and Alana Clarissa Duncan, 36, of Spring City, Sanpete County, are both charged in 3rd District Court with sodomy on a child and two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, first-degree felonies; as well as lewdness on a child, a class A misdemeanor.

According to disturbing charging documents, Overbaugh told investigators after his arrest that he and Duncan “role-played child molestation scenarios during their relationship” and would “talk about involving minor children in their sexual relationship and that they would look at children in public and share fantasies about what they would do to children if given the opportunity.”

Investigators learned that in October, Duncan brought a 1-year-old girl, a relative, to Overbaugh’s work, a car rental business in Sandy where Overbaugh is the manager, according to a police affidavit.

Overbaugh said the girl “was the perfect age because she couldn’t talk,” the charges state.

Overbaugh then sexually assaulted the child, according to charging documents, and Duncan performed a sex act on Overbaugh while holding the child.

Prosecutors have requested bail be set at $250,000.
