WEST VALLEY CITY — One man was arrested and drugs, guns and dogs were seized as part of an ongoing investigation by West Valley police.

Noe Juarez Recendez, 60, of West Valley City, was arrested Tuesday for investigation of nine counts of possession of a firearm by a restricted person, and three counts of drug distribution.

Tuesday night, officers served a search warrant at Recendez’s residence, 4389 S. Orleans Way. Detectives seized 4 pounds of heroin and 3 pounds of methamphetamine, in addition to oxycodone pills, cocaine and marijuana, said West Valley police spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku. Eight handguns and a rifle were also found inside the house, she said.

In addition, animal control officers took custody of several dogs at the home and the Salt Lake County Health Department closed the house to occupancy.
