BOUNTIFUL — A Bountiful man has been charged with engaging in illegal sexual conduct with a girl who was 15 when he first met her.

Michael Scott Dastic, 55, was charged Tuesday in 2nd District Court with three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a 16-year-old, a third-degree felony.

Dastic was first arrested by Salt Lake police in November after a 16-year-old girl told police “she had engaged in sexual relations several times in Davis County and once in Salt Lake City” with Dastic, according to a police affidavit.

When North Salt Lake police picked up the investigation, they learned that Dastic and the girl had been involved in sexual activity from August through October, according to charging documents. A couple of the sexual encounters occurred in the parking lots of North Salt Lake restaurants, police say.

He was arrested by North Salt Lake police in December.

The girl provided detectives with “a journal/notes about the encounters with Mike,” the affidavit states. She said she met him about a year ago when she was 15.
