EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Will Richardson scored seven of Oregon’s eight points in overtime as the ninth-ranked Ducks held off No. 24 Arizona 74-73. Oregon rallied to tie the game late in regulation and went ahead for good on Richardson's jumper with 17 seconds left in overtime. Richardson led the Ducks with 21 points while Payton Pritchard, who played all 45 minutes, finished with 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Nico Mannion led Arizona with 20 points and Josh Green scored 18. Zeke Nnaji had 11 points and 14 rebounds.
CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Remy Martin scored 24 points to lead Arizona State to an 82-76 victory over Oregon State. The Sun Devils took their biggest lead at 62-45 on Martin’s jumper with 9:34 remaining. Oregon State responded with a 9-2 run to get back in the game, and Tres Tinkle’s four-point play cut the lead to 74-67 with 2:28 left. The Beavers made things interesting down the stretch and closed to 80-76 on two free throws from Ethan Thompson with 16.2 seconds left, but they would not get closer. Tinkle scored 18 of his 22 points in the second half, and Thompson also scored 22.
BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — Matt Bradley scored a career-high 26 points and had 10 rebounds, and California held off a late surge to beat Washington State 73-66 for the Golden Bears’ first win in nearly a month. Paris Austin added 17 points and Grant Anticevich scored 12 to help the California end a four-game losing streak. CJ Elleby had 22 points and nine rebounds for Washington State. Noah Williams scored 16. Bradley shot 10 of 14 and had a one-handed fast break dunk off a pass from Joel Brown that put the Bears ahead by 13 early in the second half..
STANFORD, Calif. (AP) — Tyrell Terry hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with under two minutes to play and Stanford overcame a 12-point deficit to stun Washington 61-55. Daejon Davis scored 12 points, including a game-tying 3-pointer, all in the second half for the Cardinal, who have won six of seven. Spencer Jones scored 14, Oscar da Silva and Terry each had 11. Jaden McDaniels produced his first career double-double with 18 points and a season-high 15 rebounds for the Huskies, who were held scoreless over the final 3:12.
STANFORD, Calif. (AP) — Washington guard Quade Green was ruled academically ineligible by the school and will miss the rest of the regular season. Green will miss all games during winter quarter but will still be eligible to practice with the team. Should he regain his academic standing, Green could potentially return in late March depending on whether Washington plays in a postseason tournament. Winter quarter at the school is scheduled to end on March 20, the week the NCAA Tournament begins. The loss of Green was averaging 11.6 points and led the team in assists.
UNDATED (AP) — Mike Leach is leaving Washington State to take over the head football coaching job at Mississippi State. Leach will replace Joe Moorhead, who was fired last week after two seasons. The Bulldogs landed one of the most successful head coaches in the country in Leach. In 18 years with Texas Tech and Washington State, Leach is 139-90. He has won consistently at two programs that have historically struggled.
UNDATED (AP) — Washington State is n the market for a head football coach. Mike Leach left the Cougars after eight seasons to take the head job at Mississippi State. Leach brought Washington State a level of success rarely seen in Pullman. He won 55 games and took the Cougars to six bowl games in eight seasons. Now it's on athletic director Pat Chun to find his successor. Chun went through the hiring process in his last job at Florida Atlantic when he brought in Lane Kiffin. Chun said Washington State is an attractive job and he won't rush into making the hire.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Pac-12 has emerged as the top conference in women's college basketball. Four teams are ranked in the top eight in this week’s Associated Press Top 25, marking the first time that has happened in conference history. The last time it happened nationally was Jan. 27, 2014, when the ACC did it for the second straight week. Oregon is number two followed by third-ranked Oregon State, fifth-ranked Stanford and eighth-ranked UCLA. The Beavers and Bruins are two of the nation's four remaining unbeaten teams.
