OGDEN — A man was found dead at the scene of a house fire in Ogden Monday morning, officials said.

Crews responded to a two-story home near 600 North and Van Buren Avenue around 3:45 a.m. and found it fully engulfed in flames, according to the Ogden Fire Department.

Firefighters began fighting the fire and a short time later found the deceased man on the second floor of the home, KSL's Felicia Martinez reported. They were not sure if the man died from the fire or another cause.

The deceased man's name has not yet been released.

Other details including what may have started the fire were not immediately available. The cause is still under investigation, according to a news release from the Ogden Fire Department.

Damage is estimated at $200,000. Twenty-four firefighters responded to the blaze with a ladder truck, four engines and an ambulance, according to the release.
