EL Paso, Texas (AP) — Willie Harts returned an interception 25 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to lead Arizona State to a 20-14 victory against Florida State in the Sun Bowl. Harts, a freshman cornerback, halted a 14-0 surge by Florida State and helped the Sun Devils hang on for their fourth Sun Bowl victory, despite not scoring an offensive touchdown. James Blackman threw a 91-yard touchdown pass, the longest pass play in Sun Bowl history, to Tamorrion Terry to give Florida State its first lead, 14-9, in the third quarter. The Seminoles trailed 9-0 at halftime.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Lynn Bowden Jr. threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Josh Ali with 15 seconds left and Kentucky rallied to beat Virginia Tech 37-30 in the Belk Bowl. Bowden, a converted wide receiver, did most of his damage on the ground before the game-winning TD pass. He ran for 223 yards on 34 carries and scored two touchdowns for the Wildcats. Trailing 30-24, Bowden drove his team 85 yards in 18 plays taking more than eight minutes off the clock before finding Ali in the end zone down the seam. The Wildcats added a final touchdown as time expired when Jordan Wright returned a failed lateral attempt by the Hokies 28 yards for a score.

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Freshman Matthew Hurt scored 20 of his season-high 25 points before halftime and Tre Jones returned from a foot injury to help second-ranked Duke beat Boston College 88-49. Hurt made 10 of 16 shots and hit 5 of 10 3-pointers to lead the Blue Devils. Duke shot nearly 52%. Jones had 10 assists in his return from a foot sprain that had sidelined him for two games. CJ Felder had 13 points to lead Boston College. The Eagles shot 34% for the game.

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — LSU coach Ed Orgeron says he has reinstated linebacker Michael Divinity Jr. for the top-ranked Tigers' national championship game against No. 3 Clemson. Orgeron also says he feels confident that passing-game coordinator Joe Brady will remain at LSU despite being mentioned as a candidate for NFL coordinator positions this offseason. Divinity has played in five games this season but none since briefly leaving the team in early November. He has three sacks this season and was LSU's co-leader in sacks in 2018. The national championship game is Jan. 13 in New Orleans.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — Wake Forest says starting quarterback Jamie Newman plans to play elsewhere next season as a graduate transfer. The school announced Newman’s unexpected move and said the redshirt junior had entered his name into the transfer portal. Newman threw for 2,868 yards and 26 touchdowns with 11 interceptions for the eight-win Demon Deacons. He is also a physical runner with his 6-foot-4, 230-pound frame, running for 574 yards and another six scores this season. Wake Forest has four returning quarterbacks, including Sam Hartman with three years of eligibility remaining.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — No. 18 Florida State used a tenacious defense to defeat Georgia Tech 70-58. Devin Vassell scored 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds for the Seminoles, who ran their record to 12-2 and won their 15th straight home game.
