EASTON, Pa. (AP) — Grant Breneman and Malik Twyman ran for touchdowns and Colgate defeated Lafayette 16-0 on Saturday, closing out the season with three consecutive conference wins.
Colgate defeated Lafayette for the fifth consecutive time, the last three via shutout.
The Raiders (4-8, 3-3 Patriot League) won despite picking up only 11 first downs and 224 yards on offense. Lafayette had 16 first downs and 242 yards on offense.
The loss drops the Leopards (3-8, 3-2) out of a tie for first place in the conference. Holy Cross (4-1) defeated Fordham 49-27 and now has sole possession of first place.
Breneman scored on a 1-yard run late in the first quarter for a 6-0 lead, Twyman had an 11-yard TD run in the third quarter and Chris Puzzi made a 25-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.
