BLUFFDALE — One woman died Saturday morning in Bluffdale after leaving her car and running into traffic on northbound I-15 just after 6:30 a.m.

The woman was arguing with her boyfriend and attempting to jump from the vehicle when he pulled over near 15000 South, according to the Utah Department of Public Safety. When the woman left the vehicle and ran onto the highway, the man pulled into the lanes in an attempt to stop oncoming traffic.

The vehicle was struck by a dump truck pulling a paver, officials said, and was pushed into the woman. She died of her injuries. She was identified Tuesday as 43-year-old Tiffany A. Green, of Clearfield, according to a news release from the Utah Highway Patrol.

The man was transported to the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. He was not identified.

Northbound I-15 was completely reopened by 11:30 a.m., according to Utah Department of Transportation traffic cameras. The highway had been closed off for several hours, causing significant delays.
