“This year we have a lot to celebrate! We introduced a bylaws amendment at the 2019 California Democratic Convention (CADEM) in San Francisco to extend California Democratic Party membership to all, to non-citizens and regardless of immigration status,” said Sarah Souza, President of SFLDC. “As a result, the California Democratic Party has amended its bylaws to allow all Californians to have a seat at the table.”
Souza was the first-ever Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient to be appointed to the San Francisco Democratic Central Committee (DCCC).
“SFLDC is leading the movement to empower our voices and is actively introducing resolutions for CADEM as a response to the current political climate,” added Souza.
Overall, SFLDC is shaping California’s politics through its actions and resolutions.
