SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct 21, 2019--

The San Francisco Latino Democratic Club (SFLDC), celebrates its 39 th annual fundraiser on Thursday, Oct. 24, 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. at the Community Music Center, 544 Capp St., San Francisco. The event, which is open to the public, will bring together community, political, business and visionary leaders to further and create economic mobility for Latino families and increase voter participation among Latinos in San Francisco.

Chuy Gomez will be the keynote speaker at the fundraiser. He is a popular radio personality most notably known at stations he’s worked at such as KMEL 106.1FM San Francisco, WILD107.7FM, Hot 105.7FM and at Q102.1FM. Gomez has been the lead host on California Music Channel aka CMC for more than 30 years. He co-owns a DJ company — NorCalDjs — with his brother Hugo.

“This year we have a lot to celebrate! We introduced a bylaws amendment at the 2019 California Democratic Convention (CADEM) in San Francisco to extend California Democratic Party membership to all, to non-citizens and regardless of immigration status,” said Sarah Souza, President of SFLDC. “As a result, the California Democratic Party has amended its bylaws to allow all Californians to have a seat at the table.”

Souza was the first-ever Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient to be appointed to the San Francisco Democratic Central Committee (DCCC).

“SFLDC is leading the movement to empower our voices and is actively introducing resolutions for CADEM as a response to the current political climate,” added Souza.
