SALT LAKE CITY — A fire that started burning in the mountains east of Layton Monday reached 89% containment Friday, Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest officials said.
The lightning-caused Francis Fire, as it was named, burned 365 acres and hadn’t grown since Tuesday, officials said.
All of the trails the blaze had previously closed — Bair Canyon, Adams Canyon and Bonneville Shoreline trails — reopened Friday afternoon.
